Hello everyone, things are picking up in the book world as I prepare for the launch of “Riddled Worlds” on June 21st.

“Riddled Worlds” is a young adult fantasy about a boy whose world is destroyed, and finds himself transported to a shadow world, where the apocalypse has not yet occurred. He sees an opportunity, to find out what caused his own world to collapse, and maybe get a chance to save it. But the longer he stays in the shadow world, the less familiar it becomes.

As I prepare for the launch, it’s all about putting things in place. In particular, there will be a reading and book signing at Townie Books in Crested Butte, CO on June 26th. The plan is for this to be an outdoor event, but of course, weather in the mountains can be variable.

The writing focus for May, June, and July will almost exclusively be about finishing “Witch-Doctors.” And given an August 1st editorial deadline, all efforts are to make that happen. I’m on track so far, though this stage of editing takes time.

And lastly, once “Witch-Doctors” is shipped off, I will again be at a decision point… and this will be a big one. I have two other works in progress, a middle grade fantasy and a more traditional YA high fantasy both have seen a few drafts, and so the question becomes which series am I willing to commit to. Most likely the next writing sprint will be to complete books 2 and 3 and then edit them all as a series. We’ll see. The curse of enjoying a lot of genres and stories is that it’s hard not to jump around.

Now onto some unfortunate news. I’m currently waging a bit of a war between Ingram-Sparks that does my bookstore distribution and Amazon which handles my ebook and print on demand distribution. Due to some kind of cosmic mix-up, “Riddled Worlds” is posted on Amazon in (wait for it) a Korean language version. This, of course, does not exist. However, because I.S. and Amazon don’t play that well together, there is a lot of finger-pointing and it’s unclear if this is a mistake, or the result of someone trying to poach the title. In any case, I am advising everyone to not try and preorder the print version. I have my suspicions that if you do… it may never show up. Unfortunately, that happened with many “The Quickborn Odyssey” preorders and I am leery of the process. The ebook is also up, and that should be fine. Links are all in the books page.

Happy reading, happy writing.
