It has been a turbulent few days in booklife. Everything started to pick up speed in the early part of last week to do the last maneuverings for the launch of “When James Fell” on Thursday, February 24th. “When James Fell” is a YA fantasy adventure about a boy who, when he falls asleep, falls into other worlds. But you can also head over to the books section for a full description.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. By the time the weekend hit, I was down and out after two successful years of dodging the ‘Rona. I am now doing much better though still not at 100%.

Even sick, one has obligations. I made a commitment in late January to treat February as a NaNoWriMo month as I missed participating in November. To those new to the term, that means a commitment to write 50,000 words from start to finish. I managed to fight through sickness and finish my challenge, though have not been brave enough to go back and see what my fever-addled brain came up with. This will be the start of a prequel to “The Quickborn Odyssey”, and though my goal was to write a novella, I found that when the words started flowing, I had a full book on my hands. The first draft is still about 10,000 words from completion, but has been very entertaining so far. As for when this will release, that is too early to tell. I’d like to have it done by this summer to coincide with the release of “Riddled Worlds”, but that would be quite rapid for me.

One last mention is that I find that all the various kinds of social media could easily take up all my time. I will probably have a lighter touch there, and mostly when there is something to talk about. But as Instagram and cross-posting to Facebook seems to cover the most bases, I’ll probably operate there and leave Twitter for those more highly engaged. I also confess I’m even dabbling in TikTok, as I hear that’s where my audience is hanging out.

That’s all for now. It has been a busy journey ever since “The Quickborn Odyssey” released, and as more feedback from readers come in, and more events to come, I know there is a long road ahead.

Have a great week, everyone.
